School Groups

When should I submit a request to book a tour or school program?

  • We recommend booking a tour or school enrichment program as far in advance as possible.  We require at least two (2) weeks’ notice.
  • To book a visit, complete the Group Visit Request Form.  Due to heavy request volume, please allow up to two to four (2-4) business days for a response.

  • Please note: Unfortunately we cannot guarantee availability, however we will work to the best of our abilities to accommodate your request. Office hours at 9am-5pm. 

 

Where can our group eat lunch?

  • Groups are directed to enjoy meals in our seating spaces outside the Children’s Garden due to its proximity and convenience.  Food and drink are allowed throughout the Myriad Gardens. Simply select a shady spot and enjoy your meal! 
  • Please note: Food and drink are NOT allowed in the Crystal Bridge Conservatory.

 

What is the cost of a tour or school program?

  • Admission for groups of 10 or more:
    • Ages 13 and up, $6.00 (plus tax) per person
    • Ages 4-12, $4.00 (plus tax) per person
    • Ages 3 and under are FREE
    • For every 10 kids you bring, 2 adults are FREE
  • Guided Tours cost an additional fee of $2.00 (plus tax)
  • Scavenger Hunts cost an additional fee of $1.00 (plus tax)
  • Student Enrichment Programs cost an additional fee of $2.50 (plus tax)
  • Self-Guided Tours have no additional cost

 

How long are your tours or school programs?

  • Guided Tours typically last 45 minutes to 1 hour.
  • Student Enrichment Programs typically last 1 1/2 to 2 hours and are offered from 10 am to Noon, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. This time may be adjusted depending on group size and needs. 
  • Self-Guided Tours are at your own pace. We recommend carving out at least 45 minutes for a thorough visit.

  • After booking, a confirmation email will include a parking map and instructions.

 

How many students can you accommodate? 

  • Student Enrichment Programs
    • Little Plants on the Prairie – accommodates a maximum of TBD
    • REAP – accommodates a maximum of 90 students.
    • Plants We Eat – accommodates a maximum of 90 students.
  • Tour Groups – accommodates a maximum of 60 students.
  • Guided Scavenger Hunts – accommodates a maximum of 40 students in one session.
  • Please note: Groups that exceed our maximums are welcome to visit multiple days. 

 

Which program is right for my group?

  • Student Enrichment Programs
    • Little Plants on the Prairie, REAP, and Plants We Eat offer structured educational experiences focused on student enrichment through garden-based and nature-based learning activities.
    • Each program is designed to serve a targeted audience.
    • Overall, the programs range from Kindergarten to 6th Grade.Typically lasts 1 ½ to 2 hours
  • Guided Tour
    • Provides a comprehensive overview of the Crystal Bridge Conservatory, while highlighting specific plants in the rainforest and desert habitat zones.
    • A guided tour is adaptable to nearly all ages, from 3rd to 12th Grade.
    • Typically lasts 45 minutes to 1 hour.
  • Guided Scavenger Hunt
    • An alternative for younger students who might not be able to engage fully with a guided tour.
    • Typically lasts 45 minutes.
    • Designed to serve students in Pre-K to 3rd Grade.
  • Self-Guided Tours
    • Appropriate for all ages.
    • A possible option if time is limited
    • We recommend 45 minutes for a thorough visit.

    • Guided tours typically last 45 minutes to 1 hour.
  • Self-Guided Tour
    • Accompanied with an informative brochure and at your own pace.
    • Designed for groups limited on time.
    • We recommend carving out at least 45 minutes for a thorough visit.
