The Gardens celebrated Lunar New Year in the Gardens on Saturday, February 1. Visitors enjoyed face painting, music, cultural presentations, crafts for kids, and a special performance from the Lion Dancers. The grand finale included the Hung Viet Lion Dance Association who performed then led a parade through the Gardens. 

Performances included Golden Tiger Martial Arts Studio, Martial Arts Demonstration. YMCA of Greater OKC, Traditional 24-form Tai Chi demonstration. Little Miss Vietnam Olivia Tran will be performing with her dance group.  Miss Vietnam International UCO, Vy Vo, on behalf of the Vietnamese Student Association at UCO performance.  Confucius Institute at OU, Slater Rhea will sing Swan Goose and Chinese Girl, OU’s School of Music presents a violin and viola duet performing a traditional Chinese song named “Butterfly Lovers” and  Hung Viet Lion Dance Association, Lion Dance Performance

Activities in the Crystal Bridge lobby were Kaleidoscope Arts Face painting and Henna; Wine and Palette Painting pop-ins; Malcolm Zachariah Origami workshop; Master Calligrapher Yusuke Tsuji; Lunar New Year crafts and more.
