Lily Peppers promoted to Director of Education
We are pleased to announce Lily Peppers has been named director of education for Myriad Botanical Gardens. She has served as youth and school programs coordinator since fall 2016 so many of you, especially families and children may know her already. Lily graduated from the College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio in 2013 with a degree in physics and a minor in geology. After interning with the Gardens horticulture department, Lily moved into education where she has shared her love – and enthusiasm – for plants and nature with hundreds of school-aged children. In her new role, Lily will oversee the many important education programs offered by the Gardens, as well as create new ones for youth and adults.
“Lily brings many gifts to expand and enhance our education department. As we add back education staff this year and get ready for the Conservatory re-opening next year, Lily has a lot of exciting work ahead,” said Maureen Heffernan, executive director. “She will, no doubt, do a great job to make the Gardens’ education programs continue to have a ripple effect of greening OKC by inspiring all ages to discover the joy and fascination of plants and eco-friendly gardening.”
