The Myriad Gardens’ education team is kicking off their July programs with some interesting classes coming up this Saturday, July 8. One is even being taught by our executive director Maureen Heffernan! Here are the details and registration links:

Best in Show! Learn How to Grow Pumpkins – from Bigs to Minis

- Best for ages 8 and up
Pumpkins are fun and easy to grow if you know a few tricks. Come to this interactive outdoor class to learn how to grow pumpkins so you can have everything from monster pumpkins to minis for fall. Kids can choose from several different types of pumpkins and pot one up to take home and grow. Continue the fun after class and share photos of your pumpkin as it grows on our social media by tagging the Gardens @myriadgardens.

Garden Fresh Pesto Workshop

Fresh basil pesto is perfect to make in the summer when basil is fresh and abundant. But you can also make delicious pestos from carrot tops, mints and other greens that are wonderful too. In this workshop, we’ll harvest fresh herbs from the garden and along with other plants from the supermarket. You’ll learn how to make various types of pestos – perfect for pastas, salads and more.
