When you’re heading to the Myriad Gardens for one of our events and you’re exiting Western Avenue off I-40 please note the following construction news via the Oklahoma Dept. of Transportation:

West Reno Avenue narrowed this week to work on the Oklahoma City Boulevard project through summer. As part of the construction project, motorists can expect the following lane closures:

  • Western Avenue and Classen Blvd. will be closed between West Reno and West Sheridan;
  • West Reno Avenue will be narrowed to one lane in each direction and traffic will be shifted to the eastbound lanes through summer 2018;
  • Drivers will not be able to make a left turn from West Reno Avenue onto South Western Avenue or onto South Classen Blvd.;
  • Southwest Fifth Street is an eastbound only detour between Western Ave. and Walker Ave.; and Southwest Third St. remains permanently closed between Broadway Ave. and Shields Blvd./E.K. Gaylord Blvd.
  • Drivers in downtown Oklahoma City should pay close attention to signage and should plan extra travel time in the area. If traveling I-40, motorist are encouraged to exit at Penn Ave. or Robinson Ave.
  • The project is expected to continue through mid-2019.
