Family Easter Fun in the Gardens

The Myriad Gardens has lined up a list of family Easter super fun events leading up to Easter Sunday, April 1. First we have another Sensory Sensitive Evening in the Crystal Bridge on Thursday, March 29 for families with special needs children. Then on Saturday, March 31 we start the day on the Great Lawn and Band Shell with Painting in the Gardens with Wine & Palette, then the annual Doggy Easter Egg Hunt followed by our traditional Easter Egg Hunt for children ages  0 to 8. We’ll conclude the day with our Easter Eggstravaganza. Below are the details and registration links. 

Sensory Sensitive Easter Evening

Join us inside the Crystal Bridge Tropical Conservatory for an Easter Evening tailored for families with special needs children. This is not an Easter Egg Hunt, but a fun-filled evening for families and typically developing siblings. We will have festive booths and activities for children to visit and collect eggs and each child is guaranteed 20 eggs. Don’t forget your Easter basket! The Easter Bunny will have a designated spot for photos.

Painting in the Gardens with Wine & Palette: Easter

Easter Family Painting Afternoon. Bring the grandkids or your kiddos to fill in a pre-sketched Easter Egg by using paint and corkscrews. Mom or grandma can paint a lovely tulip scene to brighten up their home for the spring season. Both parties will receive an 11×14 canvas to create their masterpiece.

The fourth annual Dog Easter Egg Hunt at the Gardens is on! This year we’ve separated it into two hunts one for small dogs at 12:30 p.m. and one for large dogs at 1 p.m. Bring your leashed dog to the Great Lawn for a tail-wagging good time. When your dog touches one of the plastic eggs with their nose, into your basket it goes. Pup prizes for the lucky pooches who sniff out eggs with stickers. Dogs must be leashed and have proof of current vaccinations.


Family Workshop: Natural Easter Egg Dyeing

Create Easter egg masterpieces using natural materials from the garden. We’ll discuss the tradition of dyeing Easter eggs and go over the materials we’ll use and where they came from. Then we’ll get to creating – using natural plant dyes and materials to create fun patterns and colors. 4 eggs per child.

Easter Eggstravaganza family activities beginning at 3 p.m.

We will begin the day with our traditional Easter Egg Hunt but we are moving it our Great Lawn and Bandshell this year! More space for everyone to participate at once. This is best for ages 8 and under. We will rope the Great Lawn into sections for age groups and let your child hunt eggs. The Egg Hunt begins promptly at 2:30 p.m.—late arrivals could miss the fun. A limited number of spaces are available for this event. Our Easter Bunny will be onsite to take photos, after your Egg Hunt, stick around for our Easter Eggstravanganza—wristbands are good for all day activities.



Easter Eggstravangza

Family activities beginning at 3 p.m.If your child is not the competitive type this might be the event for you. This is not an Easter Egg Hunt, but a fun-filled afternoon for the entire family including face painting, music, food trucks and tulips for sale. Each paid participant’s wristband will visit our festive booths that include an Easter activity as they collect a guaranteed 20 eggs per child and receive a printed photo with the Easter Bunny to take home. Guests can also participate in our Easter Hat Parade, Egg Roll and Bunny Hop along the Great Lawn. We will wind down the afternoon with a performance from the Sugar Free Allstars at 4:30 p.m.
